Most Common Asked Questions and Technical issues with the Fusion Duplicators:

Problem:.
The picker on the Fusion loader gets caught underneath the Signature Printer tray when powered on.
Solution:

The sequence to powering on the Fusion system with a Signature printer is as follows:
Power On: Turn on the Fusion duplicator then about 2 seconds later power on the signature printer
Power Off: Turn off the Signature printer first then turn off the Fusion system

Reason:
The printer takes a bit longer to initialize and pull in the print drawer. If the printer is left powered on the printer drawer will be triggered to open (if drawer is closed) or close (if drawer already opened) when the Fusion system is powered ON. The signal used by the Signature printer to open and close the printer drawer is a TTL low instead of a TTL high. So when the Fusion is powered ON or OFF a TTL low signal is inadvertently sent. This is unavoidable. To avoid any problems with the picker and the printer drawer, use the power sequence above.

Problem:.
The display will show "analysing track 1/1" for about 5 minutes when trying to read a CD master.
Solution:
If running at Firmware v4.75, a firmware downgrade is needed.
Reason:
A bug was found with v4.75 that caused some reading errors with certain cds. Even on cd's that may have worked on a previous version of firmware. This is addressed in v4.76 due to be released tin the next few days of writing this notice (6/16/04).

Problem:.
52x CD-R drives open late upon a reject causing the picker to be caught underneath the CD-R drive tray
Solution:
A new firmware upgrade is needed
Reason:
We have found some problems with the Plextor Atapi bus sequencing. There is a workaround for this particular issue in v4.76. Firmware version 4.76 is due to be released in the next few days of writing this notice (6/16/04).

Problem:.
My DVD master is less than 4.7GB yet the system reads it in as if it were a full DVD
Solution:
The DVD was likely created with the session left open. Recreate the DVD with the session closed option selected on the software used to create your master.
Reason:

Choosing to leave the session open will allow additional recording to that session later. Leaving the session open is typically used for recording audio on CD-R's. Also, leaving the session open shows the entire free space remaining fooling the system into trying to read the entire DVD. Some CD/DVD drives and audio players will be unable to read the session until the session is closed. In a closed session no additional data can be written to that session. However, the remaining free space on the CD-R or in this case DVD-R is open for recording, providing you haven't closed the CD.
